Bravado defeated Damage Control 3-0 in the grand finals of the WESG South Africa qualifier (16-4 Train, 16-5 Cobblestone, 16-6 Mirage) to earn a spot at the World Finals that will take place in March.
The South African qualifier for WESG took place online, with eight teams battling for one World Finals spot in a single-elimination bracket. The tightest contested match happened before the grand final, when Bravado and Energy met in the semi-final.
Aran "Sonic" Groesbeek went +26 and finished the series with a 1.32 rating, helping Bravado get the 2-1 win over Energy. Dimitri "Detrony" Hadjipaschali's team then moved on to the final, where they were the overwhelming favorites against Damage Control. In the BO5 match, Bravado had no issues dealing with their opponents, picking up three straight map wins with dominant scorelines: 16-4 on Train, 16-5 on Cobblestone and 16-6 on Mirage.
With the win, Bravado, who will soon be moving to North America to live and compete there, has earned a spot at the $1,500,000 event that will take place in Haikou, Hainan, China, where teams such as fnatic, Space Soldiers and AGO will feature.
