FURIA and 100 Thieves will start their playoffs campaign of the North American division of DreamHack Masters Spring in the upper bracket, while four teams will fight for their lives in the lower bracket.
The final bout of the group stage came down to a battle between Cloud9 and Gen.G in Group B, with Ricky "floppy" Kemery powering his side to a 2-0 victory thanks to a stellar showing on Train, where two crucial clutch rounds from the 20-year-old helped contribute to his 1.46 series rating.
Evil Geniuses and Chaos, meanwhile, are the two sole sides eliminated following the conclusion of the group stage. Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz's men had already been left in last place ahead of their final match after losses to Cloud9 and Gen.G, but still left the tournament with a consolation prize of sorts in the form of a win against 100 Thieves.
Chaos opened the tournament in good form, managing an upset win over Liquid, but losses to MIBR and FURIA left them on the losing end of a three-way tiebreaker, seeing to a 7-8th place finish.
FURIA, who was the only team to remain undefeated in the group stage, will meet 100 Thieves in the upper bracket of the playoffs when matches resume in two weeks, on June 11. In the lower bracket, Liquid will fight for their tournament lives against Gen.G, while MIBR will go up against Cloud9.
The match-ups for the playoffs look as follows:
