ASUS ROG Winter 2020 is scheduled to kick off on Thursday, February 20, with eight contestants vying for over $13,000 in prize money.
The Helsinki event will feature a number of local representatives, most notably HAVU, who are currently ranked 32nd in the world and finished runners-up to FORZE in the recent ESEA MDL Europe Finals.
The event will begin with a GSL group stage, on Thursday and Friday, followed by the single-elimination, best-of-three, playoffs on Saturday.
Eetu "sAw" Saha's troops will be joined in Group B by fellow Finnish sides KOVA, who recently made headlines after securing a spot in the closed qualifier for the Europe Minor, and KYNYNIEKAT, featuring Finnish prodigy Elias "Jamppi" Olkkonen. Rounding out the group is the new LDLC squad, sporting the ex-Envy duo of Christophe "SIXER" Xia and Ali "hAdji" Haïnouss.
FATE are the highest-ranked team in Group A and will be going up against REHTI, who feature Jere "sergej" Salo's younger sibling, Jimi "Jimpphat" Salo. SJ, who were runners-up to KOVA at last year's Assembly Summer event, will face hREDS in their opening clash of the tournament.
